At what age should I stress jumping as part of their shot? I just finished coaching a 5th grade team, and some quality shooters (when open) on my team are easily getting their shots blocked or interfered with when shooting in traffic. I'm think of making this a priority during open gyms this summer. Thoughts?

I rarely stress jumping at any age level for boys or girls. I focus on good technique in regards to technique, consistent footwork, shot preparation, and efficiency (no wasted movements).

If a player has trouble with range I might try different tactics to coordinate legs (quick jump) and entire body to get enough power into shot. But when it comes to avoid getting blocked I think shot preparation (get ready while ball is in air) and an efficient shot is key. This video explains that a little bit.
