Do you know if there are any safety issues to be aware of for teenagers playing basketball on a half size court compared to a full size court?

Thank you for any assistance.

I can't think of any issues. As long as there is space behind the basket so kids don't hit anything when they shoot lay ups and there isn't anything dangerous to hit close to the out of bounds lines.

I'd only add keeping the number of players lower might help, rotate kids in type thing. (e.g.. 3 v 3, 4 v 4).

We played a lot of half court games as kids and teens.... I know this is a little different but I think that kids adjust to whatever they have available to them.

Like Jeff said, the key is the space behind the baskets... when I coached 8th graders we played a few games where the wall was the out of bounds line... not easy, but the kids adjusted.... teenagers are bigger and faster usually but they will adjust.
