I have a good point guard that leads us in scoring at 20 points a game. He is starting to face some Box and One defenses which has stymied some of our offensive flow. Our wings are not as strong as we like and they have not connected on many shots. Our posts are good, not great but are our second and third scoring options.

I am looking for a few sets that we can run against such junk defenses.

Thanks.

Tony,

You might look at this -

Use a 1-4 low stack FOR your point guard, O1, is your star. Put your best outside shooters in each corner. O1 can dribble either right or left, and then pass to the wide-open shooter in the corner (either O2 or O3). It the low defender comes out, pass inside to the O4 (or O5 if on the left side).
You can always flash the opposite post player to keep the defense honest on the back side or flash him hi for a hi low look.

If the top defenders (X2 and X3) start to drop into the corners, then you have a simple 1-on-1 clear-out for your star O1.

Another thing you can do is to have him pass to a wing cut and go to the opposite wing... and run baseline to get multiple screens from your post players
One other thing you can do is to have him go down and screen for your best post player, that will give him a screen from you and YOUR defender.

Thoughts?

Thanks again. You have given me some good ideas to build with. Now that we are back into district play, we are unsure how many of them will do the Box and One, but we want to be ready.

Thanks. Tony

It certainly can disrupt the flow of your offense.... but if you are ready with a few options you might be able to take them out of it quickly... had one team do that to us... we had two great wing shooters... they boxed one and we put him as the baseline runner and the other kid was on the wing and drained 4 quick threes... they got out of it and went m2m, beat us pretty good LOL ....

Good luck, hope some of that helps.
