Post subject:  Question on Continuity Zone

I got the continuity zone offense the one Don Kelbick had out. I was wondering if he did any ball screens or any type of weak side screen for a skip pass or internal screen by post to free a cutter. Also if he did flash cuts to the ball from weakside/offside wing. Also if he had any transition type first offense as some coach will call it transition or secondary break offense?

I have found ball screens to be largely ineffective vs zone defenses, save 2 situations: on top vs a 1-3-1 zone, and when I get get a screener step back, seal for a low dump down. Both are situational and I don't practice them as a matter of course. I might look at it before a particular game but they don't happen often enough to devote a chunk of practice time to.

We set weak side seals for over the top flare passes all the time. Players are free to flash the middle, if they feel it is productive, but I normally play with a mid-post so there is not often room to do so. The big question is, when a player flashes, where does he go if he doesn't get the ball.

We run in transition every chance we get. In fact, on of our montras is that the break is just another entry into our half court offense.
