Is this the article you read? https://www.breakthroughbasketball.com/articles/basic-basketball-screens.html

A lot of great information on there.

In theory, screens are fairly simple to execute. It's making sure your players pay attention to a few small details and make sure they execute those (e.g. waiting for the screen, setting up the screen, shoulder to shoulder)

You can start with your point guard, have them pass the ball to a wing and set an off ball screen for their teammate.

They should have a signal (fist in the air) as they run towards their teammates defender. This allows the teammate to see a screen is about to be set. We have our screeners yell "Wait! "Wait! Wait!" telling their teammate not to take off until the screen is set.

Just like the article says, the screener has a good solid base and has protected themselves.

The teammate taking the screen should set it up and fake the opposite way they are going to run. Then come shoulder to shoulder by their teammate.

The screener should open up towards the ball after their teammate has gone by.
