Here is an article that may help: http://www.breakthroughbasketball.com/b ... parenting/.

You have to remember that you have to make things fun. If things are not fun, they won't want to do it.

Best of Luck!

You definately need to make sure they are having fun... the one thing that we did at the end of every practice was to run what we called "situations." They were nothing more than mini games, kids love to compete and the short games keeps their interest.
You can make up any situation that you want but they include this information.
* Time on the Clock
* Score
* Who has the ball and where
* Time outs left for each team
* Foul situations
Here is a sample:
Team A has the ball under their own basket. down by 2 points with 8 seconds to play on the clock. They will be shooting the bonus if they get fouled and you have one time out left.

YOU decide how you want it played.. long pass to half court and a quick time out, then run something from half court. Take the ball to the basket since you will be shooting free throws if you get fouled, shoot the 3 for the W or shoot a 2 for the tie. AS for ME, I would tell my players to take whatever they give you.

You can make up your own situations and the kids love them. There were times I let them make one up.

Good luck and I hope this helps.

hi, sir...

i'm from philippines and currently a college student.

your challenge is how to keep students' interest.

remember that you are NOT HANDLING them but you are WORKING with them.

one way is to ASK them and then try to RELATE sports in their life...
