Can anyone comment on how long a youth player has possession of the ball during a game? 10%? 15%. Just a ballpark estimate would be great. Thanks

Even though, this would never happen. We'll assume these things are equal for simplicity.
- Playing Time
- Time Touching the Ball

Now, if you assume there are 8 players on each team, then you have a total of 16 players.

Take 100% of the game and divide by 16 players and you a little over 6% per player.

You have your point guards who typically handle it more and post players less... and your best players more.... Thats really hard to figure out the exact numbers.

Now, If a coach was using a simple 5 out motion offense, you might get closer to an equal % - I'm glad you answered this first Joe, it woke up my brain. :-)

jd- what is your reasoning behind this question?
