Post subject:  No Shot Clock!

Hi, I am desperately in need of some advice. We don't have a shot clock in our league and a couple of times we have had teams who just pass the ball back and forth for over 2 minutes at at time.
Any ideas on how to deal with this?
Lastly, it seems like all the teams we play are playing a zone defence which I really don't like at the elementary school level but we are having a really hard time breaking the zones. Any suggestions? I have tried all the common solutions and my team is not that athletic. lol
Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Pressure. I know you said your kids weren't very athletic, but that would at least interrupt the 2 minutes of passing. I'm guessing your defense is playing off their man allowing easy passing choices. You'll have to decide how much pressure your team can execute without paying for it with people blowing by or back cuts. You can deny the pass one pass away from the ball. You can definitely emphasize making it hard for a player who picks up their dribble. That's considered a "dead ball" and your defender should be making it extremely difficult to get off a good pass.

Assume you're running into 2-3 zones. Best offense I've found is a 1-3-1. https://www.jes-basketball.com/animated/poffensezone1-3-1vs2-3and2-1-2zone.html
