When the defense takes something away, they also give you something. Always try to figure out what they are giving you. You shouldn't feel like you have to initiate the offense with a pass to the wing. Like Coach Sar pointed out, there are a lot of ways you can go about initiating the offense. If you really want the ball on the wing and they deny that pass, then have the point dribble at the wing and the wing backdoors. Of course, you will have to get your post players out of the post for the backdoor pass to be effective. That's when the five out motion becomes more useful.
