Hello
I have recently wanted to start a program for daycare and preschool children that will help battle obesity and help build coordination and teamwork by using the game I love basketball. I have came up with a few drills for kids of that age but would like to know if anyone has any other suggestions for kids that are in the toddler bracket (3-5yrs old)?

Thanks for reading my post and I hope to talk and share ideas with you guys soon

For kids that age., you can do simple ballhandling drills (dribbling, around waist, etc). IN most cases, make them fun. Dirbbling around objects, maybe relay races (although that might be tough at that age).

You can also try some passing and catching.

Use really small basketballs.

You can also play tag, keep away passing gaames, etc. Browse through our drills and you'll get plenty of ideas. Basically anything that does not work against gravity (ex: dribbling and maybe passing) is possible with young kids. You can also try some footwork in very short burst of time... otherwise they lose attention.
