Passing is the quickest way to get the ball downcourt. All offensive players need to spread out and maintain spacing. Moving w/o ball must be quick and sharp. Passes must be lasers, not floaters.
If dribbling under pressure, move up the court in a 45 degree zig-zag motion, switching hands and making sharp moves and cuts. Keep head up and see the floor. Ask bigs to set screens for you too.

Coach A was right. The pass is always quicker than the dribble, but if you have to handle the ball against pressure there are a few things you should know.
1. Once you receive the ball make sure your teammates are going down the floor and out of your way.
2. Most high school and middle school courts have volleyball lines on them. Use these lines to help you stay away from trapping areas. Good rule of thumb is to stay within the volleyball lines.
3. Keep the defender off balance by changing speeds and directions.
4. Don't turn your back because this gives the defense an opportunity to double team you.
5. Always have your head up. This allows you to see open teammates and see when the double team is coming.

If you can do those things then you should be able to handle the ball against pressure and advance the ball down the court.

Great ideas..... this is something we did when our point was getting a lot of pressure bringing the ball up the court.... we would have our 5 man set a screen in the back court between the top of the arc and half court........ another thing I did at times was to tell my point to start up the floor using his weak hand.... then use a quick crossover and blow past the defender using his strong hand.
