NBA Coach

I am searching online to find out if there a school that I can go to become an NBA coach, and I end up getting to this website. Please if you can help me on finding that special school, I will greatly appreciate it.

What experience do you have in the coaching field?

There is no school to become an NBA coach.

Coaching is a contact based profession and you have to be known and trusted by people in the NBA and in a position to do the hiring. It is very much a tight closed circle. There are no requirements other than having someone hire you and the only experience that matters is the experience inside the NBA.

They are fleeting opportunities. I have had 2 opportunities, I thought, to get in. Then, the person who had the ability to bring me in had his situation changed, one was fired and the other changed teams and the whole situation changed for me.

I know many people in the NBA and I maintain my contacts in case another opportunity comes by, but it is very hard. Stan Van Gundy once told me there is no way to position yourself for an NBA job. All you can do is be ready if they call.
